Merry Christmas

Just wanted to wish everyone a very Merry and Blessed Christmas. As we finish up the last few days of a difficult year for so many, let us give thanks for the blessings that we still have in our lives and say some prayers for a quick economic recovery in 2010.

Remember Cliff? - the greyhound I posted about back in December? - well - he has found a forever home with a lovely family in the Houston area! I am so happy for him. Greyhound Pets of America/Houston has done another fabulous job in placing another of these adorable animals! If you are interested in adopting a greyhound, please give GPA/Houston a call at 713-667-3804 or check out their website at www.gpahouston.org to see the dogs that are available for adoption now.

Young Models

I recently had an opportunity to photograph some young models at Mercer Arboretum. Here is one of the shots. Don't you think they look really good together?

HARD TO BELIEVE

Today we lost both Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson. I grew up watching Farrah as a Charlies Angel. So hard to believe she's gone, even though it's been expected for some time. Although not a Michael Jackson fan, I can still feel the tremondous loss here, too, and I remember watching him growing up as part of the Jackson Five. He had such a big influence on the pop music culture. May they both rest in peace and be long remembered.

Hot Springs Graduation

Just returned from Hot Springs, Arkansas, where I spent the weekend attending a family graduation event and party. The weather was beautiful and the graduation ceremony very moving. Brings back memories. The family visit was good and it made me realize it doesn't happen often enough. I need to start making more time for the things that are really important in my life.

But right now, it's back to reality.....

Fantastic Week!

I have just spent a week at the Texas School of Professional Photography and what a fantastic experience it was! My instructors were Rick and Deborah Ferro, of Florida, well known wedding and portrait photographers. I learned so much, and met many new friends.

Home Found for Kitty

I am happy to say that a home has been found for the precious little female calico.

URGENT - HOME NEEDED FOR LITTLE GIRL CAT

As you can tell, I'm big on animals. Last week I received an email that 3 female cats needed to find new homes urgently due to the owners' little boy's severe health problems. Two of the critters have found homes - one of them with me. The only one left is Cassie. I met her and she is a sweetheart and I would have taken her if I didn't already have too many pets. She is already spayed and declawed. So won't someone PLEASE consider giving her a new home!! She is curious and playful and delightful to watch! I've attached some photos sent to me by her owners. If anyone is interested, please contact me and I'll forward the owner's contact info to you. Please reach out!!!

BLUEBONNETS IN BLOOM

Took a ride to Brenham, Texas today to see how the bluebonnets and other Texas wildflowers were faring. There were several nice patches and people were out in droves. Here are some of the photos:





Also saw a couple horses in a field of bluebonnets and just had to stop and get some pictures. This is one of them. Of course, they were more interested in eating than posing for the camera, but I like the shots I did manage to get.

Little Ten Speed 1993 - 2009

I lost my precious buddy this morning. He was 16 and lived a full rich life, but that doesn't take away the hole in my heart right now.

Last week I had the opportunity to photograph a precious little poodle named Lily. She is an old girl and not in the best of health, but she was a real trooper in front of the camera. Here is one of the photos of her. Isn't she precious?
